Within Sheffield Talking Therapies we offer a number of guided self-help online courses, a computerised CBT programme called Silvercloud, and 1:1 sessions which can be delivered virtually or in-person. Please see what to expect for more information. We can also offer employment support if you are looking for work or having problems staying in work.

Virtual – We can offer video appointments. It is quick and easy to access. You just need a confidential space and internet access.

Face to face - On campus we have Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, CBT therapists and Counsellors based within the university health centres. If you would prefer to be seen off campus, we also see students in a number of different locations across the city, dependent on where your registered GP is.

Please see what to expect for more information.

We have assessment appointments available and short waiting times for treatment. However, waiting times can change throughout the year dependent on demand.

To provide the best support we can only offer you treatment if you are registered with a Sheffield GP, and based in the UK. We understand that you may have two addresses: home and university and travel between the two. You may also travel abroad to visit home, for work placements or just for fun! If you are going to be out of the country whilst in treatment, please discuss this with your therapist.

Please note we are only able to pause treatment for a maximum of 4 weeks, this would include being offered an appointment after reaching top of the waiting list.

It is important to note that we are not a crisis service, so if you are struggling and feel you need urgent help and are unable to keep yourself safe, please call NHS 111 option 2 (urgent mental health support line), call 999 or attend your nearest A&E.
